Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 6 cups cold water
  • 2 tablespoons loose tea leaves

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the sugar and 2 cups of water over medium-high heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
  3. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water and the tea leaves. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover the pan and let the tea steep for 15 minutes.
  5. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher.
  6. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices, if desired.
