- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

- 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package chili seasoning mix
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the bell pepper, garlic, stewed tomatoes, kidney beans, chili beans, green chilies, chili seasoning mix, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve with shredded cheese, diced onions, and jalapenos, if desired.
