Ingredients

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts (optional)

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil over high heat.
  2. Stir in oats and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in mashed banana, peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon.
  4. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, for an additional 5 minutes, or until oats reach desired consistency.
  5. Serve oatmeal in a bowl and top with chopped peanuts, if desired.
