Ingredients
- 1 box of cake mix (flavor of your choice)
- 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 package of chocolate candy melts
- Colorful sprinkles
- Cake pop sticks
Directions
- Bake the cake according to the instructions on the box. Let it cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, crumble the cake into fine crumbs using your hands or a fork.
- Add the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cake crumbs. Mix well until the mixture comes together.
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into ball shapes, about the size of a walnut. Place the balls on a lined baking sheet.
- Insert a cake pop stick into each cake ball. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the cake pops to firm up.
- In the meantime, melt the chocolate candy melts according to the package instructions.
- Remove the cake pops from the refrigerator. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
- Immediately sprinkle colorful sprinkles over the wet chocolate coating.
- Stick the cake pops upright into a piece of styrofoam or a cake pop stand to set.
- Repeat the dipping and decorating process for the remaining cake pops.
- Once the chocolate coating has hardened, you can serve and enjoy your pretty cake pops!
