Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
  4. Mix in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until set. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
